Phil's Friend Jerry Many of you will remember our friend Phil, who donated his kidney last year to his former college professor. Phil asks us to help pray for his friend Jerry, who is also in desperate need of a kidney transplant. Phil says Jerry is a former pastor, now a schoolteacher, who loves Christ and is facing a serious situation with this medical need. Please join Phil in praying for his friend, that God would raise up a donor with a heart as big as Phil's for a brother in need.
The DeiblersToday in the first hour we talked to Jeromy Deibler of FFH. His family is beginning a journey that's eerily similar to what our family experienced with the loss of our home to toxic mold. Please pray for Jeromy, his wife Jennifer, and their two children as they go through this time of unheaval and questioning. Pray that God would lead them to right answers and would bring His people alongside to help in whatever way they can. Thanks for praying for them. To find out more about their situation and follow Jeromy's blog, click here.
MeganThis is Megan, whose Aunt Linda emailed us today to ask for prayer for her upcoming surgery. Please remember Megan and her family in your prayers this week. I hear you today speaking of children having surgery, and their parents, and it is close to home. On Friday, July 30, my niece Megan, age 14 from Illinois who has spina bifida, with have triple arthrodesia, a surgery on both feet and ankles to transfer tendons and fuse bones to help her walk better in her leg braces, and without pain. Please pray for Megan for peace and comfort as the surgery nears, that she and her family are comforted by God, that the surgery is successful, that God holds Megan in His hands as He directs the surgeon's hands, and that she heals well. Megan and her family are believers, and for this we all thank God. All prayers are certainly appreciated. Aunt Linda
A Caller in Distress In our second hour today we talked about a voicemail we received recently from a caller in distress. She told a heartbreaking story of a husband who abuses her and the effect this is having on her two sons. She asked for prayer to know what she should do, tearfully adding, "I don't want to lose my kids. I don't want them to grow up with broken hearts and not believing in God." Please pray that the counsel we offered on the program today would reach this caller's ears and give her guidance and encouragement, and that God would be working in all aspects of the situation, especially in the heart of the caller's husband.

Rich Buhler We learned today that our friend Rich Buhler, whom many of you know as the founder/operator of the website TruthOrFiction.com, has been diagnosed with an inoperable mass on his pancreas. Please pray for Rich and his family as they await further test results and assess possible treatment options. Rich has said, "I feel very comfortable in the hands of God." Let's ask God to do something great in Rich's life and bring complete healing to his body. Thanks for praying.
Update on Levi Levi had his surgery today. It was a tough day for Levi's parents. He was at the hospital only a little time when he said to his dad, "I'm ready to go home." This afternoon we got the news that Levi made it through surgery and the doctor said he did what he wanted to do with the heart surgery. Levi is in a room in intensive care and is being observed. He isn't out of the woods and his recovery will take weeks, but the family is very grateful for the prayer support. Thank you for praying for him.
Levi
I talked about my 5-year-old friend Levi on the first hour of the program today. Levi’s family is very concerned about a surgery he needs. We know that many families have gone through these deep waters of brokenness. My challenge on the program was that you would pray for Levi as well as look for opportunities to minister to those around you through his touching story. To hear more about Levi's story, click here and select Hour 1. UPDATE: We just heard that Levi's heart surgery has been scheduled for 7 AM Pacific Time on Tuesday, July 27. Please "pray big" for Levi! Also, some of you have expressed interest in helping Levi's family with the financial burden of this surgery. A special benefit concert called "Playing for Levi's Heart" is scheduled for August 21. If you'd like to contribute through this event, please email

Jedidiah Not long ago a listener wrote to tell us about Jedidiah Harper, a little boy who's battling cancer. Today we were scheduled to have Jed's mom, Lori, on the program to tell us their story, but unfortunately Jed has had some medical issues come up and they're at the hospital having some tests done. Lori would appreciate our prayers for their family as they deal with the many issues and uncertainties confronting them right now. To find out more about how you can pray for little Jed and his family, please visit Lori's blog.

The Harper Family During our first hour today we spoke with Lori Harper, mother of little Jedidiah, age 3. Jed is battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer, but the story we heard from Lori today was anything but one of despair. God is clearly working in and through their situation, and we ask that you would join their local faith community in praying for complete healing for Jed. Here are some specific prayer requests from Lori's blog from earlier this week:
Please be in prayer for our family. So much is happening in our lives and God is opening many doors of opportunity for us to spread His gospel. Pray that we will make the right decisions and be used in every way that God wants us, even if it is out of our comfort zone!
Pray for Jedidiah.....he will get chemo # 16 tomorrow morning. He has been experiencing frequent leg pain and we ask that you pray for that specifically.
Pray for all the families who are with us on this journey.
Callers Today, 7/27 Today we heard from caller Rachel, a single mom with six kids. She's dealing with many issues in her family--medical, financial, and even the death of her children's father a few months ago--but her biggest concern is finding the faith to keep on trusting the Lord to provide, and wanting to see that faith instilled in her children and lived out in their lives. Please pray for Rachel and for others facing similar struggles, that God would raise up people to come alongside and help lighten their load. Pray that they would be reminded daily of the words of Psalm 31:24: Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.
Another caller today was Johnni, whose husband is a paramedic. Because of his work schedule, he isn't able to take part in fellowship with other Christian men. Please pray these "big prayers" for Johnni's husband: That God would bring a believer alongside him at his workplace to meet that need for Christian fellowship, and that someone who is not a believer would see their faith in action and become a Christian as a result.
Joni Eareckson Tada Joni Eareckson Tada has been on the minds of many listeners who've been praying for her through her recent breast cancer diagnosis and surgery. She joined us for the first hour of the program today and shared the good news that her post-operative scans came back clear of any metasticized cancer. Praise God! She'll begin chemotherapy treatments the first week in August, so pray for God's hand upon her through that as well. Please pray for guidance as she works with a dietary specialist to help strengthen her body during this time, and that her bones would not be damaged by the treatments. Joni has encouraged and challenged the body of Christ on a number of important issues, and we were grateful for a chance to encourage her in return with your calls and emails. You can also visit Joni's blog to post a message and let her know you're thinking of her. Thanks for praying.
Graham Please pray for our caller Graham, originally from Australia, as he and his wife return to that country as missionaries to the Aboriginal people there. They're stepping out in faith to follow God's leading, leaving everything they know behind them. Pray for the remaining details to fall into place, and for God's abundant blessing on their ministry to these people who so desperately need to hear the Gospel message.
